WELCOME TO AMERICAN GOVERNMENT

Description

Students will explore the government of the United States from its beginning to the present. Students will learn about the operations of federal, state, and local government, and about issues facing our nation today. Students will become better equipped to understand, pray for, and be involved in our country’s government. Students can anticipate guest speakers from among our local government and field trips outside of class will be offered. In addition, students will be required to attend a minimum of one local government meeting and participate in a day in Topeka visiting the State Capitol and Legislature. This course includes quite a bit of time outside the classroom dedicated to reading and completing course work in order to best take advantage of class time to facilitate discussion and comprehension.
